Relational Care for Real Life
Care rooted in relationship, shaped by curiosity, and grounded in the belief that people make more sense in context.
Secure Connections Therapy Collective, PLLC is a growing Florida mental health practice centered on the relationships that shape our lives—including the relationship we have with ourselves.
We believe good therapy makes room for the whole person: their history, nervous system, identity, relationships, strengths, protective patterns, and the systems around them.
SCTC is also becoming a professional home for therapists who want to practice with depth, stay connected to other clinicians, and build careers that remain sustainable over time.
We’re currently welcoming interest from independently licensed clinicians and Florida Registered Mental Health Counselor Interns.
Because how we connect matters.People rarely struggle in isolation.
The ways we understand ourselves, protect ourselves, communicate, attach, repair, and respond to stress are shaped within relationships—and they continue to affect the relationships we build throughout our lives.
Our work looks beyond symptoms alone.
We’re interested in helping people understand the patterns beneath them, build greater capacity for safety and choice, and develop healthier ways of relating to themselves and others.
Our approach may draw from:
Attachment-centered care
Understanding how safety, trust, closeness, and protection shape the way we relate.
Self-coherence and integration
Helping people make sense of their experiences and develop a more connected understanding of themselves.
Nervous-system and trauma-informed care
Recognizing protective responses with curiosity rather than judgment.
Relational and family systems
Looking at patterns between people—not only what is happening inside one person.
Neurodiversity-affirming care
Making room for different minds, nervous systems, communication styles, and ways of experiencing the world.
At the center of all of it is a simple idea:
Understand first. Change thoughtfully.
Care for the person and the Relationships Around Them.
SCTC is being built deliberately as a small, connected clinical community.
We are not organized around filling the most appointment slots possible. We care more about creating the conditions for strong therapy: enough time to think, appropriate support, good systems, reliable follow-through, professional accountability, and caseloads clinicians can sustain.
We value:
Strong therapeutic relationships
Clients deserve to feel known, respected, and taken seriously.
Curiosity before certainty
Complex people and relationships rarely fit neatly into simple explanations.
Clinical autonomy
Therapists need room to think, use judgment, and develop their own professional voice.
Collaboration when it helps
Independent practice does not have to mean isolated practice.
Ethics and accountability
Good intentions matter, but so do boundaries, documentation, follow-through, and sound judgment.
Sustainable work
Good clinical work needs room to breathe.
A place for thoughtful clinicians to do thoughtful work.
SCTC’s work may include individuals, couples, parents and children, siblings, families, and other important relationships.
We focus on areas such as:
self-understanding and identity
attachment and relational security
nervous-system regulation
trauma and protective patterns
communication and repair
family and relationship dynamics
neurodivergence within relationships
boundaries and differentiation
connection across life transitions
Our goal is not to force people toward one version of “healthy.”
It is to help people develop more understanding, more flexibility, and more choice in how they move through their lives and relationships.
We're a team of passionate thinkers and doers, dedicated to building with purpose and clarity. Collaboration and curiosity drive everything we do. Our process is simple, thoughtful, and designed with your experience in mind. We believe great results come from clear steps, open collaboration, and a shared sense of purpose.
WHAT MATTERS TO US IN A CLINICIAN
We care about experience, but we care just as much about how someone practices.
We are drawn to clinicians who bring:
warmth and relational presence
sound clinical fundamentals
ethical judgment
appropriate professional boundaries
reliable documentation and follow-through
curiosity and humility
respect for consultation
openness to different perspectives
a desire to keep learning
care for the quality of the work, not simply the quantity
Specialty experience is welcome.
So is genuine capacity for development.
Build depth, not just a caseload.
-
Private practice—without building it all alone.
SCTC is preparing to welcome an independently licensed Florida mental health clinician for a part-time W-2 role.
This may be a good fit if private-practice work appeals to you, but building an entire solo business does not.
Maybe you’ve recently become independently licensed and want to learn what private-practice work feels like within an existing structure.
Maybe you already have another role and would like a smaller caseload made up of work you care deeply about.
Or maybe you’re an experienced clinician looking for a practice where clinical depth matters more than volume.
At SCTC, the goal is to give clinicians room for autonomy while providing the infrastructure and professional community around the work.
The role is being designed to include:
W-2 employment
a gradually developed part-time caseload
established practice systems
billing and credentialing support
administrative infrastructure
referral development
consultation and professional collaboration
support for developing or deepening a specialty area
opportunities to grow with the practice over time
You do not need to arrive with your entire professional identity already figured out.
If you already love this kind of work, we’d like to know you.
If you’re a strong clinician who wants to intentionally grow into it, we’d like to know you too.
Bring what you know. Keep becoming.
Coming soon. Accepting clinician interest now.
-
You don’t have to wait until the license arrives to say hello.
If you’re getting close to independent Florida licensure and SCTC’s approach feels familiar—or like the kind of work you want to grow toward—you’re welcome to connect now.
You may not be eligible for a licensed position today.
That doesn’t mean we need to wait to know each other.
Some of the strongest professional relationships begin before there is a job opening, a referral to make, or a specific reason to collaborate.
Connection matters for clinicians, too.
-
Supervision should help you develop your own clinical voice.
The clinician-development side of SCTC is growing alongside the practice.
Florida Registered Mental Health Counselor Interns may connect with SCTC for secondary supervision, professional development, and private-practice mentorship.
This is separate from the current licensed-clinician employment opportunity.
It may be especially useful for interns who already have a primary work setting but want additional space to think more deeply about:
attachment and relational work
trauma and nervous-system-informed care
neurodiversity-affirming practice
relational and family systems
clinical niche development
professional identity
ethical private-practice thinking
referral relationships and professional networking
the transition from internship to independent licensure
Good supervision should not make you more dependent on your supervisor.
It should help you develop stronger judgment, notice what you don’t yet know, trust what you do know, ask better questions, and become increasingly capable of thinking for yourself.
Room to think. People to think with.
-
The first priority for anyone joining SCTC is simple:
Do excellent work with the clients in your care.
Over time, some clinicians may want additional responsibility.
Potential pathways may eventually include:
Licensed Clinician → Senior Clinician → Optional Leadership or Qualified Supervisor Opportunities
But professional growth does not have to mean moving into management.
There is room to deepen expertise, strengthen a niche, mentor others, expand responsibility—or simply continue becoming an excellent clinician.
Careers can grow in more than one direction.
More than one way to build a meaningful career...SCTC is being developed around the idea that clinicians need different things at different stages of their careers.
For one therapist, that may mean supervision and a place to develop confidence.
For another, it may mean trying private-practice work without starting an entire business.
For another, it may mean finding a professional community while continuing to practice independently.
And for some, it may eventually mean mentoring, supervising, or helping shape what SCTC becomes next.
There doesn’t need to be one prescribed path.
Build a clinical life that fits You.
Whether you are independently licensed, still completing your internship, or beginning to think about what comes next, we’re happy to hear from clinicians who connect with the way SCTC approaches the work. Fill out the contact form or email us at shannon@sctcjax.com
